OK, I've done the search, here, Google, Ducati forums, and can't seem to figure out the bottom line on the Ohlins forks.

I noticed a bit of the gold coating is coming off of my right fork, right up by the seal. Is this a problem? From what I gather, the gold coating on the lower fork leg is just there for looks, not a true TiN coating, and I shouldn't worry about it. I am concerned about the black lines, but they do not catch my fingernail, and the whole thing feels very smooth. The last set of seals only lasted 5 trackdays (~700 mi), so not sure what to think.
Here's a pic:

I recently decided to track/race my 07 RSVR factory. I sent the bike to Amauri (forum member) to have the work done. I could not be happier. Amauri spent a lot of time and labor on this bike.

I wanted to post to let anyone on the west coast know that Amauri does amazing work. He is very personable and very knowledgeable about these bikes. Amauri got me great deals on many parts, and charged me a very very fair rate for the amount of labor he did on the bike. I am very happy with my new again RSVR. The bike was working so well I threw it down the track at 100+ shortly after I got it back haha. I took it back to Amauri and he helped me get it up and running again for my track time the very next weekend.

I cant speak highly enough of Amauri and the work he does on these bike. Great guy, great work.

Seemed like the plugs solved it before but I've only put about 800mi on it since then. It doesn't seem down on power at all and all was fine 2 days ago when I was out for about 30mi..where should I start to diagnose this?

And so came a rainy day. Just bought a new RSV 2004 Factory and changed the 60 jet for the 40. The clutch now feels amazing, the rest of the bike doesn't... A new problem occured after the swap as the bike like dies for a couple of seconds while driving it. It doesn't occur in any particular rpm but it does it very frequently when driving. It dies for a second or two and during that time the Neutral indicator flickers. It keeps on going after that and doesn't indicate any errors after that. The idle works fine and the bike responds to the throttle all the way while idling.
I have no idea what to do as the bike is not rideable. Sometimes it completely dies if I pull the clutch in while it shuts down. Any ideas on how to fix this one ?
Much appreciated!

Hello

I'm in the process of changing my swing arm, and read all the posts I could search for.

Question to confirm. Are these the correct bearing sizes for the swingarm and linkage, can they be bought from a bearing supplier, or is the OEM parts needed/recommended for them?

Swingarm brake side - 2 x 61904 open type deep groove ball bearing 20x37x9mm
Swingarm chain side - 1 x HK3026 drawn cup type needle bearing with two open ends 30x37x26
Linkage bearings - 6 x HK1812 drawn cup type needle bearing with two open ends 18x24x12

Linkage dust seals - 6 x 18x24x4 R21/SC Nitrile rubber single lip metric rotary shaft oil seal
Swingarm chain side dust seal - 1 x 30x37x4 R21/SC Nitrile rubber single lip metric rotary shaft oil seal

From the parts fiche there are 2 orings shown prior to the bearing installation

Size: 68.3 KB" class="thumbnail" style="float:CONFIG" />

Can all the other parts in the swing arm link be re-used apart from the bearings? Can these orings be reused, or should new ones be obtained from the dealer.

Appreciate any advise from those that have already done this.

Thanks in advance

I recently purchased a 2004 RSV1000R and I'm loving this bike! It has 25K miles on it but the owner took very good care of it as far as maintenance. But I'm having an issue with it dying as I come to a stop,it doesn't happen all the time, but often enough to be pretty annoying. The bike idles at 700 rpm and I know that it should be around 1250. There is also a faint gasoline odor. After doing some research here I found a thread where someone had a similar problem and traced it to the small hoses that attach to the MAP sensor. So I checked those hoses first and they seem to be fine, they aren't loose or brittle. Do you think I should just replace them anyways to eliminate that possibility? I also read where it might be the MAP sensor itself, how can I check to see if it needs to be replaced?
