Tired of the oil in the airbox but in the mood to tackling RossGuzzi's more complicated (but excellent) solution here:
http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...18-Air-box-mod

I took a left over piece of oil line, a PCV threaded coupling like this one:

Epoxied the oil line onto it (it pushed in very tightly to the inside of the threaded end).
Then I stuff some PCV filter material in the pipe end, put a screw across the end to keep it from blowing out then pushed it on to the nipple in the airbox.
Whaddya think?
(sorry the flash blew out the PVC part)
I'm not totally happy with it though and am thinking of using one of these:

Ya so you can rip around a track and win races but can you ride slow? I got this from my MSF class watching motorcycle rodeos done by the Orange County CA police depts, and I can't stop doing it.

I don't see too many other people do this on motorcycles but I do with bicyclist and I've been doing since I got my M1 and started riding on the street. When I ride around town, coming up to a stop light, stop sign behind a car, or just about any chance I get, I try to stay on my bike as long as I can. I'll get to the point where I stop with an extra 6 feet and ride that as slow as I can, inch by inch. My fav is when I get to a stop sign behind a few cars. If I make it to the stop sign without putting a foot down, I win.:)

Am I the only one who does this? Its really fun if you've never tried it. One of the moto officers said to keep your engine revs up. I'm guessing the inertia from the rotating crankshaft adds stability.

Hi

had the headlight bulb blow out recently and changed it but must not have tightened up enough one of the upper bolts that holds the headlight surround and so i've lost the bolt+nut. ok shouldn't be too hard to find/order a replacement. looking up the parts fiche online it isn't shown in the diagram. http://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdI...shiver2011.pdf see the fiche for front body front mud guard that shows the headlight assembly.
so i search online and discount ( at least for now ) the stainless steel probolt kit ( $30 + postage is a bit excessive for 1 bolt and it looks like the bolts don't have shoulders ) so i go to the dealer with the bolt 1 of 2 that i still have in my hand and with the guy in spare parts who looks at the fiche and ( finally ) agrees..it's not shown. so he contacts aprilia in sydney ( surely they must know..) and rings me back to say that they do in fact have the bolt i'm missing and it's only a couple of dollars. so i go today to collect the bolt and i question him.. uh.. it's shorter than the one i have. and why is there no nut supplied. ? he claims the bolt i have has been superseded ( yeah right why was no lock nut supplied ? ) and says sorry that's best i can do. part num of what he was sent is AP8152339 which in the parts fiche is what holds the mudguard to the fork..

looking at the fiche for front headlight #15 AP8152338 and #16 AP8152306 could be it ? ( though this comes up as m5 x 20 )

having just got back in the office from the dealer i'll check tonight but in the meantime my questions. anyone from the forum happen to know the part number and/or an alternate source what looks like an m5x16 with shoulder + locknut ?

thanks

Marco

I race pocket bikes, So back in Feb I bought this Aprilia SR50 Carb'd Scooter...
Well the Aprilia being the "Scooter to beat" I inquired about what class I could race the scooter in.
So I was told it could be in the "Mini" Class, which would mostly be against pitbikes...
I honestly think i'll have an unfair advantage. Since the SR50 utilizes 13" tires, and I have a Big Bore Kit and race crank....and a topspeed around 70mph.
What do you guys think?

That being the case I've decided to buy a huge can and go fill it up with ethanol free gasoline from one of the marinas near by. My question is this... How long will gas—for lack of a batter work—last if it's sitting in a container in my garage?

I assume it must have some sort of a shelf life but I'm not sure what it is.

Can you keep posting regular comments on Soupys message board so at least someone might see the comments and then not buy the link as it is very dangerous and will cause an accident at some point. Your comments carry more weight on the web site and to people who are considering buying the link as you are within the US.

I changed my stock pipe to a ZX/R and am having some power loss. At times it feels that I am getting full fuel pressure but when at wot it cuts back until I let off of the throttle a little bit and then it may pick up or may not. When I put the stock pipe back on it seems to do fine. I have tried numerous sets of rollers and have found 6.7 to work the best rpm range. I have changed out the fuel filter with a new one and have tried numerous contras ending up with white and also using red clutch springs. Did a TPS reset. ZX/R pipe has had restriction removed. I get better top end with the stock pipe ending up somewhere in the 46mph range on the speedo. I will not get near that with the ZX/R. Anything that you guys can think of would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
