Aprilia SBK Assen Round Review

Assen, 22 April 2012 � The Assen round Sunday will be long remembered for the continuous pendulum of emotions, both because of the uncertain weather and the great show on the track. The Aprilia Racing Team confirmed itself as a key player in spite of the difficulties Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty faced throughout the weekend. The Northern Irish rider's rostrum finish in Race 2 ended a day which returns the championship's first place position to Biaggi, even if only by one point.

The first thing to note about race one is that it was red flagged due to rain with nine laps to go. After returning to the pits to put on the softer tyres for the wet, the riders lined up for a new start in the driving rain. Max and Eugene immediately demonstrated excellent pace

Imola, 1 April � The more than 80,000 spectators in attendance at the Imola circuit had an exciting day with the show that the two Superbike races provided. The Aprilia Racing riders were among the key players at the �Enzo and Dino Ferrari� track, taking maximum advantage of a difficult track for the bikes from Noale.

Max Biaggi once again demonstrated his great stability. Although coming up against a few difficulties, starting from the Superpole yesterday, the Corsair gave it his all, managing not to lose sight of the front runners. So now that we are finally getting the Tuono V4 here in the USA I am guessing the next few months are going to see a HUGE spike in the sale of Tuono V4 pipes from all manufacturers. This is a simple DIY thread about how to install you r own pipe in only a few minutes at home. Most of you probably need no guide but for those who are on the fence about whether or not this is something the average Joe/Jane can pull off at home hopefully this will help you decide. The first step is to get the bike secure, either on it's sidestand, a rear stand or a workbench. Most of the job is VERY straightforward but at least on the last two pipes I installed there was no real "manual" so I thought this might be of interest.

DIY: Shiver Valve Check, Illustrated

I bought my shiver 2 weeks ago and already have over 1500 miles on it. I hadnt yet checked the valves, and given that I wanted to learn more about the engine, i decided to dive in. I havent seen a close up description posted anywhere, and the pictures in the service manual are small, so I thought I would take photos to share what I find.

Tools needed:
4mm allen wrench to remove all the fairing pieces
2.5mm allen wrench to remove battery holder
5mm allen wrench for valve cover bolts
8mm and 10mm socket wrenches
8mm and 10mm standard wrenches
philips screwdriver
set of valve clearance measurement shims
