Hi everyone:banana: Ive recently made the best move ever and sold my GSXR750 97 and bought and spankin new tuono. not that the Gixer was a bad bike (far from it). Wanted a top bike but not the back ache:(
Got a few questions and you guys seem to be helpful:worship:
I seem to have the obligatory poor fueling problem that rears its head on light throttle and between 3000-4000.Can be really anoying in traffic and puts the dampers on what is a great bike.
The dealer said they could install map 2(The bike is standard)and see how i got on. Is this the answer?
My other option is to take it to a tuner and install a power comander and pair of Acro slipon's. This seems an expensive way of sorting a manufacturers fuelling issue!!
Your comments will be read with interest.
Cheers:confused:

If you search the T06 forum you will find a lot of interesting stuff about what you are asking.
In basic, the Map II is already there. It just need to be activated by your dealers Axone.
Some find this to be good enough with slip ons/complete system. Others have also a Power Commander, bigger and more open air box and so on. You will find different ways of doing things and different dyno readings somewhere in here.
By the way; congratulations with the new bike!

Cheers fella.
Was looking to keep the bike standard but looks like im going to have to get something done about it.
Is anyone out there running their bike on standard cans with map 2?
Is there any improvement?
Now i see why Aprilia offer such a good range of after market tuning goodies..

Welcome to the site. I think most of us have asked the same question when we got the bike. I still get it but its not an issue now. Put the smaller sprocket on the front which will mean you have a usable 1st gear. Once you have done the break in period you will find that you learn to ride above 4k anyway.
Standard cans and Map 2 wasnt recommended by my dealer - and they know their sh*t. They said it wouldnt fix the problem.

It won't, don't run it with the stock cans. Make sure you have the latest ECU version, get some cans and activate map 2. Make sure the tb's are synced and have them set the CO's and that's about all you can do. The 15T cog will help but you'll still be in the crappy rev range on occasion street riding.
PC3 is the way to go at that point if it still sucks.

Beverz, you do not have to run aftermarket cans for your bike to run smooth!
That is the go to for the power hungry.
Have your dealer install ECU upgrade # 266532(on map 1). That cures, for the most part your 3-4k stumble. They can then further adjust your low end with a sniffer in your exhaust and TB sync.
My bike runs smooth with stock cans.
Get to know your bike!
Of course cans, map 2 and if you need, the PCIII WILL give you even more power.
Everyone goes for loud these days.
And usually the police can hear you coming...
I'm just enjoying quiet for a while and my bike goes pretty damn fast.
Bring it on!

It didn't for me but some have been able to get bye without the PC.

First thing, just fit the 15 tooth front sprocket. It's easy and cheap and makes a tremendous difference.

I Knew you guys would come up with the goods....
I have booked the bike in for its first service at Southern cross Motorcycles for its first service. They will check it for the latest Ecu and also the CO..
They said the standard Cans are the biggest problem and said to lose them for best gains. Might look at the Aprilia Acro's as they are still road legal yet let the engine breath. Who Knows?
Cheers .
