LOL, i took my screwdriver today and followed

the details for CDI restriction...

I always wondered why i couldnt Wheelie my RS at the Torque peak ... LOL the CDI retards the ignition at that rev so it's really slow transition from 5-6K..

If you have RS 125 and u cant wheelie this might help.. it also increases cornering speed etc!!

After 1998, in order for RS125 to pass the European Environmental Commission standards, aprilia put a restriction in it. What they did, is that they made it harder for the powervalves to be activated. This means that in a bike that features this restriction, the powervalves will not easily open at 6K+ RPM.

There's only 1 powervalve & the cdi has no effect on the powervalve.

dont you have a 123 engine? if so you would have a hard time doing it :)

its 122 on a 98, my power valve is fully open, so would i notice it or not? only reason its open cause the cable had broken when i got it so i stuck it open

priller, a cousin of mine got a 06 RS125; you have any idea if it has a restriction?

Also, when he closes the choke the engine makes a strange sound for 1-2 mins.. any ideas?

yea thats normally. You only need the choke on for about 10 seconds after you have started up your bike.

Get a dealer to derestricted it to save your warrenty
