Hi! I was just wandering if anyone can help me unplug the pwer valve. I just need to have it restricted for the next couple of weeks while various "inspections" are carried out on it. I started by unscrewing the power valve, the blade slid right out, but now ive found out that by completely removing it theres a whole lot more you gotta do and so i just want to unplug it. Please help! Diagrams would be fantastic.

thers a two wires that come out of the back of the solenoid, trace them back to the two pin plug and undo it. Also if the inspectors are likely to be clued up and rigorous, then you should also unplug it where it goes into the contol box. This box is under the pillion seat, and will have 6 wires going into it, but one of them is a loop, so there is really only four wires going in. By unplugging this too then the inspector won't be able to just replug in the first plug and have it operational.

Ok now lets say that these inspectors are insurance officers. Would that make the bike road legal?? thanks very much.

you guys have been great help. So im just going to leave the power valve in then, i have found the black cable that coasts two wires and goes into a two pin plug. I will then go on to find where this wire goes in to the control box and completely unplug that to which the bike is then definitely road legal??

well if you are on a CBT, then yes it will be road legal. Pumping out 12 bhp lol. If you are that worried, take your PV blade out of the mantel and just have the PV all connected, just missing the vital part the blade. Gman

no you cant do that, the exhaust gasses will come out of the slot in this case.
Your bike will be road legal for someone on a cbt, but there may be some questions raised about why it has a powervalve in the first place, as the conventional way of restricting them is to do away with the whole pv assy and just have a blanking plate where the powervalve blade goes.
Im sure you will be ok if you act a bit daft though

Like they will be able to see the PV. Its hard enough for people who know where it is, let alone with fairings on etc
You could remove the solenoid and cable, then there can be no question that it is restricted!

What? if they are insurance investigators or techies hired by the insurance company, im sure they will do more than take a quick peek through the fairings, and im sure they will be more than familiar with the RS125 in that case anyway. unplug PV at a minimum, best to remove solenoid id say, and dont make it look obvious

I wouldn't be suprised if they didn't even check the pv. When a mates bike was written off all they did was check the damage, didn't check the restrictions or say anything about the race can.
Personally I would unplug the solinoid & remove the rave unit.
