Does your oil filter have a relief valve in the 'closed' end or not (a rubber disc with a spring behind it)? My original does.
What part(s) is it protecting against over-pressure?
Anyone running aftermarket filters without it?
cheers

All my filters have had the valve, I've used some Husqvarna filters aswell, the difference is that the Husqvarna's had a slightly harder spring.
The valve is for when the filter gets so dirty that it doesn't give enough oil flow the valve opens. But by then you should have changed the filter a long time ago. :)
