Well I just walked in the door with the new scooter, I went ahead and rode it the 30miles home. All I can say is this sucks not being able to wring it out, but hey I can see the light at the end. This bike needs tons of set up time I can tell you that much. So tomorrow the mods begin.

Was your ride freeway/highway and through city traffic??

I had the option of about 15miles of freeway or 45mph back roads. So I took the back roads, I just don't think this bike should be ridden at sustained high speeds. Not until I have a look at the rods in about 30hrs of use. I plan to take it to Beaver Run next week for some good use so I have to get it broken in and set up quick.

Man I wish I could join you! Not to pry but in my opinion these bikes are not made for commute or freeway. It is like commuting in an F-40 ferrari. It is simply not meant to be idling in traffic.

Mine gets hot as hell after a minute at a stop light. Once I get to the twisties it is a whole different story.

Yeah I just have to ride it to work a few times a month to help justify the cost of the bike. I now look at my Mille R like a step child. Did your dealer charge you for the whole derestriction process?

I haven't come across the heat problem, but then again I'm lucky to get 75 and sunny. and I'm sure that my commute is different then most, not awhole lot of lights or traffic

mine didn't because I put a deposit on it like last year, but everyone that didn't was going to be charged an extra $200

My mechanic didn't charge me either, but I wish he had rather than complain continually about the $2500.00 AXONE scanner unit needed to download the mapping! My 450 has not been re-mapped yet, but I can hardly wait. Unfortunatly right now my KTM 450 would smoke it on the track.

Yeah well as of now Im not too impressed with the mapping. I will have to give it a week and try something different.
