Local guy here has this trailer for sale... it's a 6x12, he wants $1300.

What are your thoughts for a trackday / posible future race trailer?

$1300 is pretty reasonable for that trailer, although I would check it out underneath thoroughly.

Check for frame rust, broken leaf prings, wheel berarings, wiring/lights, etc. Also brakes, if equipped. If all are servicable, then 1300 bucks sounds fair.

Do you have a vehicle big enough to pull it??

That's a nice looking trailer. I liked the other comments. Also, make sure it's name brand as far as bearings and seals go. Bearing Buddies are a good sign. Modern is good and tidy is desired. Also, I'm a fan of 15" wheels. You tend to have less failures with tires and bearings than with smaller sizes.

Make sure it locks securely too. I like having lights inside, a good bench and plenty of tiedown points. Side door access is cool, but not required.

It's like your own piece of real estate.

I'd say I have a big enough vehicle... Dodge 1-ton dually w/Cummins diesel (uprated to 750lb-ft at the wheels) :burnout:

I passed on this trailer. It just looked worn and neglected. I'd like to find something I can haul my rock buggy in as well, but it needs a 7'H x 7'W x 13' D cargo area, so... it'll be a little while, but there's no sense in having 2 enclosed

Bearing buddies IMO have no business on a trailer that will not be submerged. In my experiences, they lube the outer bearing, starve the inner, and typically blow grease right past the inner seal, ruining the brakes. Nah.

I just re-pack the bearings on mine annually, no big deal. or, Dexter has a better system where the center of the spindle carries the grease.

I had a braco 12 footer with a pull out canopy on the side that i sold for 1200 and it looked better than that one

Can't tell from the pics, but is it tall enough to stand up in? Also how old is it? I am looking for something similar. They go for about $5000 new with zippo accessories. Offhand, if you don't buy it, I would. Assuming everything checks out as noted above. That is if it were closer to me.

Yeah, you might be right. I guess I was thinking they were a sign that the person cared enough to put them on, but now that you mention it, it was a boat trailer I had that had bearing failure. Since that time I just put them on my mc trailer. And, my trilers don't have brakes and I try not to over fill them. Just a squirt every now and then:lover:

If I got a trailer, I'd get one that had a door that folded forward and doubled as a loading ramp... but I'm just lazy like that LOL

:plus: I would look around a bit more, you should be able to do better.
