i read on 1 website that if u leave the bike ticking over for 2 long so it is realy warm can be bad in cold weather cuz if its sat there all nice and warm and then u 1st pull of the higher revs suck in lots more cold air hurting the cylinder its called cold seizer i do belive what water temp do u normaly pull of on?and how long approx does it normaly take?

the temp on the display is the temperature of the coolant in the engine, takes a couple of minutes to get up to 40 degress give it a bit of revs as well dude

hmmmm....

i tend to just start my biek with the choke, then turn it off afta 30secs and it warms up nicely...

Same here crunch, my bike takes no time at all to get to 40.

perhaps a couple of mins at most.

Hi

I just start the engine and ride straight off, taking it easy (keeping below about 5000) until it is properly up to temperature.

Running for ages with the choke on is not a good idea. The extra fuel will wash the oil off the bearings and the bore.

All the best

I havent been using the choke for a few weeks to start my bike, it just starts first time everytime i usally let it get to around 35 then give it a bit of throttle takes another 4 or so mins to warm it to 50 then i ride off

If my bike is freezin cold and been left for a few days I just put the choke on full and it starts perfectly. Leave the choke on till 30c then take it off and give it a bit of revs.. it'll idle nicly then and will get to 45 in about a minute, then just keep it out of the powerband till its running about 75c then if i get the urge rag her :)

i don't ride off at all until the bike is at 50c,some people ride off at 40c,i don't spose it make that much difference.but i won't go above 8000rpm til its at 70c,doesn't take too long to 50c,kwik fag until put lid on and shes there, takes 'bout 5mins from 50-70c once moving
