I've had my 150 for about a month and a half and right from the start I discovered that I need to open the throttle a little to get it started and then keep it open a little for a few seconds after it starts. Once its been running for a few seconds, I can release the throttle and it idles without any problems. Is this normal? I don't mind doing it, but I have to be careful I don't give it too much gas after starting or it starts to take off on me.

I was thinking that I might need to adjust the idle screw on the carb, but since it seems to be idling OK, I'm not sure that it's the right answer. Any ideas?

Not terribly out of the ordinary. I think a low idle is used so the bike won't move on you. But yes, sometimes a little throttle is needed.
