Ok I've decided. I've rules out the 950sm and the Superduke, it's going to be a Tuono as a replacement for my 2002 Fazer thou'. But what colour?
Red doesn't do it for me. Silver is good. Black is my favourite.
But what about the matt finish. What's it like for wear and tear? And what's the best way to clean it? I guess you can't poilish it.

Cleaned my matt black one yesterday. Just washed it and dried it, no polish required. Dead easy.
Only had it a few weeks so cant really comment on wear and tear. Back end gets rotten tho when its wet.

:plus: Or is it dull silver? Wash, Honda polish or wax of choice=done.
Works great on my matt RSV.
Aren't the matt black ones in more limited numbers as well?

I just purchased a black one also. This type of matte finish is available on other types of bike so i wonder they up keep it.

My matt black Tuono will be ready to be picked up next Saturday, not sure about wear and tear but am sure going to give it some.
I think both the black and silver are great, my mind was made up by no silver ones being available until August!!

Owning the flat black T7 has been a liberating experience for me. I really like to keep my machines spit-shined, so it's been a time consuming (I own ten bikes) thing for me. With the new Tuono, it's very different. There's no wash/dry/wax on/wax off/buff ritual............it's just wash & dry. I've been cleaning it (if it's not too dirty) right in the garage. Up on the paddock stand, damp soapy rag overall (wheels get the most attention), damp rag to remove soap residue, then dry it off. 10 minutes tops. Leaves more time for the important stuff, like straightening up the next set of bends.

All of them look great. Especially the black and the silver bikes. The red looks better in person IMO. Get the one you want then you want the other one. :)
I use Mr Clean car wash. Excellent for bikes because it leaves no water spots and doesn't require any drying. Either Mothers or Meguires I think was supposed to have a matte finish product. I havent tried it but I plan to.

Well having picked up my Silver/grey one on Friday I was able to compare mine with Monkey Hangers on the Southern Tuono tour on Saturday. I had the same choice and I think I'm happier with mine rather than the flat black. IMHO it's a bit to stealth looking, it needs a bit of gloss somewhere to bring the bike to life. However they are all good.

Hehe, i like the exact opposite. Love the stealthy matt finish over the shiny glossy one. Your bike does look nice tho, had plenty of time to view it when i was following you when we first left Box Hill. It's great following a bike that looks almost like your own. Gotta get some cans on it tho! :)
