Hey guys i went on a mission today to find a spark plug that was reccomended (NGK BR10EG), but i had no luck anywhere so i went to Halfords and spoke to my step dads friend who rides and repairs bike at Halfords and he said it shouldnt really matter what spark plug i buy as long as it has a number higher than 8 in the name or something?!? So he gave me this one (NGK CR9EH-9). I hope he's right but i want to know what you guys think of it! Should it be o.k?

Also as my bike is at my dads can you tell me what tools i need to lift the tank and fit the spark plug?

Thanks :)

Thats the wrong plug, its wont fit. Its 10mm, you need 14mm & its too hot.

Yep or whatever the denso plug is. Unless you buy an iridium or platinum plug. Not sure why you cant find one, easy to get here

To lift the tank:

you should have a plastic wallet under the seat, in it are all the tools you need to change a plug, adjust clutch, etc. In mine I've added more allen keys to get the panels and mudguard off, spare sparkie, and an emergency flare (you never know).

Use the allen key to undo the bolt at the front of the tank, you should also have a long rod under the seat that's clipped in place, use that to hold the tank up, put one end in the frame where the bolt went and the other in the rubber chunk underneath the tank.

There's a plug tool in the kit to get the plug out. Then put it all back together.

One last thing, its best if you have a paddock stand to hold the bike vertically straight, as the weight of the tank if it is full can put a bit of stress on the mounts, especially if you have it up and down a lot.

Oh dear. In that case either a 4mm or 5mm allen key will get the tank open, unsure if a car sparkie socket would fit your NGK plug?

onone.
