Yesterday I noticed that the rear end of my 2003 Scarabeo felt a bit as if it had low tire pressure. I checked the tire and it's OK. Then I grabbed the rear wheel and yanked on it a few times. It seemed as if the back end was moving more than it should. I guess the engine is integral to the frame? How much movement should there be in the rear section of the frame? BTW, the wheel bearing felt solid. The bike has 6500 miles on it. Thanks for any help or advice.

Your motor/tranny/swingarm unit pivots on an axle of its own...it sounds as though that axle is loose....check for a missing nut too.

Thanks Micah, will do. I've been riding more in the city over the last two days so maybe I just felt the play a bit more than normal. But I rode my usual backroad way in to work this morning and everything felt normal. I'll check for a loose bolt though...
