When I purchased my capo I wanted my throttlem. installed. The mechanic told me that it had solid ends and could not be done. When I took off the endcaps...it looked like the end cap was screwed into a piece that looked like it was screwed into the bars.
I would appreciate any help one might offer. Also....installing bmw handguards...how does one keep them from hitting the gas tank?

BMW hanguards will always hit the tank. If left in the original condition (no cutting) you have to compromise between mirrors and levers adjustments and them hitting the tank. I believe, that the only option is to get bar raisers. They will give you needed clearance between handguards and the tank + mirror and levers adjustments will be much easier.

Throttlemeister Self-Lock Fix
No one has asked this question, but this site has an easy fix for anyone that is having a problem with the Throttlemeister self-locking.

I'm using the ThrottleMeister on my Caponord. Works like a charm! Give a call to the guys at ThrottleMeister when ordering to get the right hardware. I initially received the wrong bolts/spacers, but a quick call had them ship out the correct bits and pieces at no charge (they asked me to ship back the incorrect parts, which I did).

About the "Throttlemeister Self-Lock Fix".....
I just talked with Fred at Throttlemeister and asked about that website/problem/fix. He said that there is NOT A PROBLEM....that the person with the website had gotten one of the very first Throttlemeisters. There apparently was a problem and they have changed the internals to eliminate any such self-locking problems.

I have the Throttlemeister installed on my 2002. I am not sure what you will need to retro fit a TM from another bike, but if you go from scratch you need to ask for the same kit that they have spec'd for the Futura with the Heli Bar conversion. This is the kit that they sent me, and it was a perfect fit. Very important though - not the standard Futura kit, but the Heli Bar Futura kit.

I just use a large 15 cent O-Ring and slide it between the grip and handlebar. Works perfect and the throttle stays where you want it.
