View Full Version : Ergal for
Hi, some times ago I've chosen Ergal for ridrer/pillion footrest hanger bolts(M8x30mm), but now I see a lot of bike's bolts manifacturers suggesting Titanium for this kind of application.. From a safety point of view should I replace them with Ti bolts?
Thanks!

Thanks! If you want to spend the money on Ti they would probably be OK but you should replace them with steel otherwise. I don't think Ergal is suitable for foot rests.

do NOT use ergal (alminum) for footpegs or subframes
The only safe place to use aluminum is for bodywork.

Your saying the bolts to hold the footpegs on should not be Ergal, right. The Aprilia Racing footpegs are Ergal.
