Those Aprilia tuning loons in Italy are at it again...

Maybe someone can incorporate these variable-length intake stacks on a Tuon06...someday.

Sick trick, these: http://www.favarettiracingtech.it/News.html

The comments don't translate too well:

CORNETTI TO VARIABLE HEIGHT Cornetti to variable alttezza for RSV1000 2004/05, is the last made hard work this year realizes you from the full load with machine to the C.N. Is sets in action to you pneumatically and controls to you in their movement from the telephone exchange electronically: their movement happens in the same moment of the opening of INTAKE FLAP managed from the telephone exchange. E' the adapted answer more for who wants an sensitive increment of brace and power to the means and bottoms regimes (approximately 3/4 HP) without to lose performances to the high regimes. Currently a similar system on the field motion is mounted alone on MV F4 TAMBURINI.

Variable-length intake trumpets, pneumatically actuated, and triggered by the ECU's signal to the intake flap.

but with the height of the 06 Tuono's v-stacks they would probably hit the top of the airbox if lifterd :D

Ain't seen the innards of a Tuon06 airbox, in fact I'm still waiting to see the bike in person, but is the new Tuono's airbox sized the same as an RSV04's? It does appear that the variable-height system lifts them up out of the way when in short-stack mode.

the Tuono's v-stacks are 3 times the lenght of the RSV-R Factory so the bike still has some midrange like the 02-05 Tuono ;) I think they are 60mm tall, but havent seen one yet either
