......my local shop down here in Low Cal (San Diego) had told me I would be in my new scoot by the end of January. Wellll....it now has been bumped to early March. Salesman (who I actually believe) says that the Aprilia rep has been dogging him on almost all the delivery dates with the exception of the Capo which they already have received.

So the beat goes on, but what ya gonna do?? I could go buy a Speed Triple tomorrow, the local shop has them in stock. And the local Yamaha dealer says the new Fizzy will be in by mid February. And if its the real naked version, that thing is pretty sweet. But I have been told that the good one is only going to be released in Europe. WTF?

So I will wait. Just hope the first one is not the Silver color

I'm hearing April here in Seattle on '06's, and Idaho says April/May on '06's, MAYBE. Idaho didn't get their '05's 'till July.
I get the second one in Seattle. Color? Thats a crapshoot-I want red. :worship:
So we may be waiting...
At least I have this. Whew

My black one was also promised at the end of januari and is now delayed untill the 4th week of februari. Getting a nice bike isn't easy but when i read all the comments i'm sure it will be worth waiting.

The 06 Tuono's were never going to be avaliable in the US in January.....

......And the Speed Triples have been out since last year.
We didn't recieve one of those until WAAAY later in the year (SP3 that is). WAAY later than Jan/Feb.

Try being the guy that gets told you have to wait until Sep. because you're now getting an 06 model.....

BTW I've also heard that the FZ1 is in pretty limited quantities as well....and most expecting customers won't see them until Feb'ish....

there isn't really any other choice...the speed triple is NOT a match for the Tuono...IMO the only thing that could come close MIGHT be a 999 motor in the new S4R.

Yeah, you're right. I have ridden the '06 Triple and it's a step behind the Tuono in just about every category. And according to my local Yamaha "source", the real naked Fizzy is indeed only going to Europe.

So got to suck it up, be a man, blah blah blah.............ah hell, who am I trying to kid.

WAH!

Personally, I'm not going for the Tuono because its a naked bike, but for the handlebar position. Nakeds are ok(!), but I'd rather have this riding position with a half or full fairing. And not FJR1300 tank style either, but sporty/tour.
My FZ6 is ideal in its half fairing and bar position and looks, but in the end it is a run of the mill Jap bike... IMO
I'm fine with the wait though as I have my FZ6 and a brand new CRF450X!!

Just got off the phone with my Aprilia dealer salesman, and he and the owner of the dealership pretty much laid into the 'Priller rep today. So the rep assured them that everthing is o.k. with the whole operation and the bikes and parts will be here within another month at the latest. I feel confident that the local dealer here (GP Motorcycles) is being forthright and doing whatever they can for the customer. They feel strongly that Piaggio is going to do whatever is necessary to keep Aprilia afloat and moving forward.

I feel pretty good after the chat with the dealer, but just in case I am going down next week and test ride the MV 910. That bike is available right now! GG

Have you sat on one yet. They are really compact.& in my opinion the Tuono has a better finnish.Everybody wants to talk to me about mine & all say it is one lovely bike,it's only 6 days & getting tired of the banter already. Now when I stop the bike goes over there & I sit anywhere but there:) :) :)

Yeah. I bet you do!!

I agree completely from what I have seen...not done any test driving yet due to 12 degrees below z and snow. It is a really compact bike, and compared to my 2001 Mille the finish has improoved a lot!

what did you expect the Area rep to say, he was probably just trying to leave without a black eye :D

Well I am interested in this bike but can't get a good look at one. I know it's supposed to be a good bike but how are us poor people in the bike deprived U.S. supposed to buy if we can't get them?

The weather is getting warmer and I'm ready to play.

Oh well.
