I have been lurking here for the last month and finally registered because I am planning on getting a Tuono next Monday. I need to ak for your collective help.
The bike that i want to get has been on the dealers floor since at least May and is one of the earlier Tuonos w/out the California emiisions crap. Has there been any midpoint production changes and is there any problems with the earlier production models that I should be on the look out for?
I am getting a great price and the dealer is including the 600 mile service.

hey chef, good to see you here. i don't think there were any significant changes in the production run so far. most owners here aren't really noticing too many problems. there's the standard installed flat spot and stumble off idle with this engine. but most people have been able to tune that out. other than that, i don't think we've heard of too many problems cropping up.

I am on my second Tuono unfortunately due to a accident.
The most important thing you want to make sure is they adjust the co2 level and balance the throttle bodies before delivery.
The first one I did not have them do this and it ran absolutly horrible down low as you read the posts you will see others complain of the same thing.
The 2nd one I made them do it before delivery and I tell you they are like chalk and cheese. This one is just awesome compare to the first it runs smoother and pulls like a train from idle upwards and there is no flat spot as well compared to the first one. This one I can sit in 6th gear at 60kph where the first was not even confortable to keep it in 4th.
The both I have fitted a 16 tooth front from the word go which you want to do straight away.
Do this and you will get off the bike every time with a grin like all Tuono riders do.
The only problem is the headaches from the constant grinning.
Good luck with your purchase.
