Supporters of the SportbikeChat Bike Night!
I wanted to send out a thank you to everyone that attend the event last night! We made our mark on the sportbike community!
We had well over 1500 bikes last night (See the Pic Below)! We gave away alot of free products to the people that attended the event just for purchasing raffle tickets and for just showing up!
I would like to thank a few people for their help:
Members:
Ryan, BeeJ, Steve, Alycia, Honey and more just too many people to list!
Groups:
MSR Mayhem Street Riders, 2nd to None, Toyride, and so many more that supported throughout this year sorry I can't name them all but, we are very greatful for your help. We could have never made it through the first year without all your support!
Vendor:
Russ Brown, 2WheelTuning, Motorhelmets, Ruff Ryders, Outlaw Motorsports, Addictgear, Solomoto Parts and all that were not listed we thank you!
2006 Permits Have Arrived
We are proud to announce that this bike night has been approved by the city for another year and hopefully will continue forever. I heard there were people asking if the event was going to stop! Never as long as I maintain the support of the community. We need to have a strict control on stunting and noise restrictions for 2006.
We all need to keep this event running not only us but the entire community! We will be looking forward to seeing all of you every week
at Frisco's Carhop (City of Industry)
Thank you again for supporting the SportbikeChat Bike Night
Pictures of the event for everyone to view will be posted today! Come to the website at: http://www.sportbikechat.com
If any of you took pictures last night please send me a copy of them so that I can get them post under our anniversary page. Thank you!

Damn! That's a lot of 2 wheelers! So, this is a "bike night" and happens on a regular basis? Or, this was a specific event??
Where is this?

That trellis frame did hold up! Maybe a good design after all.
lawman800
11-01-2005, 08:13 PM
Apparently, the trellis is a good design from all the wadded up Ducati bikes I've seen too. Or is it just too much for the rider?

There is another weekly bike night in the NewOrleans area on Wednesdays at http://www.mcguirespitstop.com/ , assuming they have resumed since the hurricane....just in case anyone is passing through the area. They say about 400 bikes show, but from personal experience, the count is much higher if you consider those that show for only a few minutes.
Be nice to find an up to date list of such events across the nation. I'd post my own picture, but I'm still inept at doing so in this forum. :worship:

2 Wheel Tuning comes out a couple of times per month. I am not sure yet if they will be out there, but they probably will.

We have bike night ever Thursday Night. However this 1500+ people turnout is only for our "monthly bash". The normal turnout is about 500 - 750 people.
We are not yet sure how many people are going to come out over the winter months, but we are not going to stop the event.

Can you post a link to the location?

Gale Avenue parallel to the 60fwy
from the 60 east, get off on Azusa, go south, turn right on Gale, proceed til you see Frisco's and about 600 bikes in the lot
TJsAprilia
11-03-2005, 10:51 AM
If you are traveling on the 60 going East: Exit Azusa and turn Left (north). Once you go over the 60 freeway, you will turn Right on to Gale. Follow Gale untill you see Frisco's on the Left hand side. If you get to Fullerton Rd, you have gone to far.
You can also use the address below to Map Quest it, and call me if you have a problem 561-601-4404.

The Mille you saw has a 2002 R motor, completely worked. Upgraded suspention Front (Race Tech), Rear (bitubo). I dont think that one part of that dam bike has remained untouched. LOL!!!

Most of those riders don't want to get their rides all wet and dirty after they spent all week polishing it for the one big night to POSE. After all, a jap bike with $10,000 worth of go fast parts that you can't exploit on the street and don't dare take to the track has to be shown off somewhere!

Have you seen the new limited edition Yamaha.

THAT's how to spend an extra 10K on a bike!

Screw that LE Yamaha SEMA aftermarket Torque Fast & Furious bike. Ohlins bits and aftermarket rims do not make a bike exotic. It's still a run-of-the-mill R1 with some flashy bits. I rather have a stock MilleR or MV any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Beau1K
11-13-2005, 09:47 PM
I agree, but for a Jap bike that's the ticket...except maybe the MT-01...that looks good too.
lawman800
11-13-2005, 09:49 PM
Same as Jap cars, I suppose. I'll stick with my German cars and Italian bikes as I thrash the Jap bikes on the track.

I volunteer you to drive the chase car with the ice cooler full of delicious and nutritious refreshments and snacks in the meantime then. A truck would be ideal in case we need to haul something back, like a bike or something. Last week, some guy's R6 experienced catastrophic failure at Newcomb's. He found his rear axle nut had fallen out during the ride and the wheel was shifting in the swingarm. A truck was dispatched to haul it home.

If you are looking for something a little slower and sometimes older...
Wednesday nights in the West San Fernando Valley. Valley Bike Night. Never more than 100 to 200 people. Yes there are young ones, but old ones too.
Sponsored by Village Coffee Roast, the coffee shop that lets them use the parking lot in front of it. Plenty of room, a BBQ chicken place and a Subway if you want more than coffee while you hang out.
Things get going around 8pm and out by 10pm. Plus, the local CHP and LAPD divisions hang out. So no need to worry about wild riders. Very "family" calm if you even wanted to show the kids some bikes.
http://www.valleybikenight.com is the site for info. They even have a forum to keep up on local bike happenings like Sunday rides and a toy ride coming up on December 4th.
Worth at least checking out once, specially if you are close to the valley and don't like Wednesday night TV. :)
