After our own astute Mr. Ivins speculated on January 24 that Honda may introduce a V-3 engined motoGP bike soon, rumors have surfaced that Yamaha is considering the same thing.
Indeed, there has been some buzz in the MotoGP paddock that Aprilia (with its three-cylinder Cube, and ten kilo weight advantage) had the correct formula, all along. It simply may have taken more financial muscle from a larger manufacturer (such as Honda or Yamaha) to exploit the advantages of this formula (again, see Mr. Ivins discussion on this point).
