My day started very nicely. Eventhough I overslept by an hour I was able to get on the road by 5:30-5:45 am. The skies were very cloudy and a few times I got caught in pretty hard rain. Since I checked the weather forecast the night before I was sure that I will be able to ride. Forecast called for 40% chance of rain. Anyway I made it to Summit Point JC, WV in about 3:30-3:45. The sun was out and it was extremely hot and humid. At that time my group was out for the 1st time. So as it stood I only missed one session. I unloaded my bike and went thru inspection, set up the tent and was pretty much ready to go. We had a short delay because someone from the Red group crashed and spilled some fluides on the track. Cleanup lasted about 10-15 min. Then it was my turn (white group). I promissed myself as well as to my significant other that I will take it easy. I was sticking to this rule and learning the track. Track is a lot of fun. After lunch I started to pick some speed and dragging my knees on both sides :plus: Then it happened around 3:30 pm. I was coming into a turn 1 (U shaped turn) and leaned to much. I felt I might be loosing the bike and it felt like the front started to wash out. I figured that applying a little more throttle will get me thru but I guess I was leaned way to much. Bike just got out from under me and the next thing I know I sliding on my ass in the apex and the bike is sliding in front of me. The bike slided into the grass and I followed it right away after doing a small cartwhell myself. I got up and moved the bike to the tire wall and came back and picked up my helmet visor that popped out. Checked the bike out and saw my brake pedal rear set bent into a pretzel shape fairing stay broken. I started the bike and rode it back to the pits.

So, the list of the damages are as following:
1) Triumph - fairing stay
2) Triumph - cracked bodywork again
3) Triumph - bent and messed up rearsets both sides but brake side is the worst.
4) Gear - holes in my pants and jacket right where kryptotek material is
5) Gear - gloves ripped
6) Me - least damage. Bruised finger and a scrapped knee (right where a hole torn thru the pants).

The worst part of the day was going back home and sitting in the traffic for almost 6 plus hours.

Would I go on the track again? Hell YES!!! I am having a lot of fun. But I am 100% certain I do not want to go down again. Its to expensive :bangwall:

FalcoLion, I think I remember you said you also had a run-off into the grass at Pocono East(?). Get it out of your system early. This stuff happens.

JC is smooth as glass and about as slippery - but still fun. As the day goes on it gets somewhat grippier. Did you run clockwise or counter?

What do you mean by "Get it out of yur system"? We ran clockwise - almost all right turns.

I've had one run-off(Pocono FUSA) and a low-side(Summit Main). So I meant best not to have them - but if you do, best to get them out of the way early in your track-day years and be fortunate enough never to have anything happen again.

Where the hell were you I was there too, I pitted with a few of the coaches and a bunch of jersey guys. I did better on the JC than the main course but I like the tighter more technical stuff. It was a prety good weekend out there but was hot as hell.

Hey, I was there too!!

While viewing the photos at the stand, somebody asked me about my aprilia and if I was member of the forum. It was FalcoLion! I was so glad to meet somebody from here.

Next time, let's make sure to open a thread in advance...

Not a coach, but a very noticeable rider since mine was the only two stroke bike on there...

The weekend I ran there earlier this year was interesting; we saw several deer, a snake & assorted chipmonks enjoying some track time. Lots of trees close to the track as well
