2000 Aprilia SR50
Black/Grey/Yellow "Race Replica" colors
Trimmed rear fender.
Leovinci ZX exhaust.
"Sola-Larm" alarm system (fat lot of good that did!).
A 'Pilot' driving light affixed underneath the headlight.
Some scratches on the left side of the front and rear side panels, from a gentle lay-down a while back.
VIN: ZD4MZH00XYS001134
Location: St. Louis, MO
Stolen from my backyard overnight. I was home the whole @#%$ time! The alarm was a bit sketchy because of the humidity, apparently it didn't even trigger when they took it. I would have woken up to screeching alarms. Police report filed, local dealers called... Hopefully it'll turn up somewhere. :(
Peace,

Yay, the police pulled through, and apprehended a young man driving my scooter! So they arrested him, and I got my scooter back.
Bad news is, its pretty messed up :P
He used some screwdriver to jam his way into the ignition. He managed to force it into the 'on' position, but the starter is messed up too. You have to start it with the kick start, and turn it off with the engine kill switch. It looks like he layed it down on the left side, because the fairing is all torn up on the left side, and the handlebar grip and left mirror are torn up. The left rear blinker is broken too. The turn signals aren't working for some reason also. He also broke the lock column, and the latch to the trunk, and then forced the trunk open. The whole seat part needs to be replaced, because its totally twisted and scratched up. The front kneeguard needs replacment too, because it was literally torn off the vehicle to access the column. The right side fairing is gouged into.. Looks like he tried to remove the stickers with a screwdriver or something.
Mechanically, it seems ok. The only mechanical issue I see is the steering column which received some light damage when he tore out the steering lock pin. I'm definately going to have it checked out by a professional though, to make sure the frame and forks aren't twisted or anything.
In summary, every single piece of bodywork needs replacement. If its plastic, he tore into it trying to get inside. The ignition block and entire trunk latching assembly needs replacement. The seat and seat assembly need replacement. A metal ring on the steering column, the part that accepts the steering lock pin, needs replacement. Any ideas of total cost? 600-700$ ish, i was thinking?
Also, since they apprehended him, am I going to be able to make him pay to get it all fixed? I've got to go to the court tonight and testify against him, would he be required to pay for the damage? Or will I have to take him to civil court myself to get damages paid for? Any idea what a lawyer costs? :P
Well, at least I have my baby back, and in pretty good mechanical shape (though she is a sad image right now )
