would I be alone here in saying that I'd be just as happy to see Jeremy McWilliams on the podium as an Aprilia??? That guys just rides the wheels off that proton....and if I'm not mistaken their still having to run the 2 stroke while they work the kinks out of that V-5...amazing....

I'll second that. Jeremy may not be the most talented guy out there, but he's certainly one of the most tenacious. He leaves it all on the track. Every time. He doesn't complain, he doesn't show-boat, he doesn't offer excuses. He just does his job the best he can. And he's nearly 40 years old! He's one of my heros. No question.

BTW, there's a photo of him at Brno in the latest issue of Superbike magazine, riding through what for any mere mortal would have been a low-side. Riding the wheels off that Proton indeed!

yuck...what happened on day 2 ??? I know Colin crashed but what was Nori doing??? Ducati is already on top in their 1st pre-season and we've already got a year of development under our belt...what the hell ???

Aprilia say that Colin's tumble was caused by a technical problem that could possibly be a common mode failure
so Haga's bike was called in for inspections. Nori later improved his times but by then the track was getting cold. I don't know that the Aprilia guys ever got to mount qualifying rubber like the rest did. The track was also entirely new to Edwards, so trying to out-gun the others for a 3-Series BMW and no championship points seems pretty risky. According to racingarilia.com, they went into this test to continue developing the bike more than anything else. Smart! Too bad one of the lessons was "school of hard knocks" type, but learning occurred it sounds like. Roll on, Suzuka!
