SR50 Performance

I'm looking for some help. I live in the Canary Islands and have a Spanish spec SR50 Ditech. At 2000KM it was derestricted via Game Boy and is fabulous. Max speed reads (!) 110 KMH on the flat and acceleration is very good even two up.
My problem is wind! It's quite windy here and as soon as I hit a head wind the speed reduces to 70-80 KMH and the motor "comes off the boil."
What I'm looking for is a simple mod that will enable the engine to keep going. I don't want any more speed or acceleration, I just want it to be able to keep going without me crouching onto the handlebars.
Any ideas anyone?
For the record 6000KM covered and no faults at all - it seems quicker than any other 50 on the island and leaves the post office Vespa 200's for dead. Very, very impressed with the bike and would recommend it to anyone.

Try some 6 gram rollers, that should keep the motor spinning a little higher to help fight the wind.

i would try 60.5 gram rollers, My sr is unrestricted i put a leo vince zx pipe on it and 60.5 gram rollers and the thing rips off the start, The stock weights could also be flat spotted and therefore not rolling and doing more of a sliding once the rpms come up. I found the stock rollers where to heavy anyway. Hope this helps.

Correction to my last post. i'm sure you know i meant 6.5 gram rollers not 60.5. lol

Reduce the speed by at least 30km/h. The speedometer is waaaay off.

And the weights should be good @ 6g

06 sr50 ditech problem
my sr was running perfectand it shut off very abruptly checked over and when i hit the start button to see if maybe the motor was tight it fired up and ran perfect again for about 5min and did it again. It once again ran perfect all morning and afternoon i put almost 70 miles on, That evening i was riding it 2 up and all was working perfect when about 15 miles into the ride it shut off and would not restart. Motor cranks fine and after looking it over all night the next day i kept tryin to start it it finally started but seemed to labor to keep running, once the rpm's come up i rode it and it seems normal at higher rpms, i came to a stop and tryed to let idle and it quit and will not restart. Tryed a new plug, seems to had good compressing i pulled off exhaust and what i could see of the piston and cylinder it all looks good. There are no codes or errors popping up. Please help. Mike

SR 50 SPEED

Hi i am having problem with my 2001 aprilia sr 50 lc, my bike accelerates so well, with 5.5 gram rollers, but afta it has a big burst of acceleration for 5 seconds it dies and doesnt go more than 23 mph, i have placed a new piston and ring kit, new variator, new starter motor, carb, its has a handmade zx exhaust, it used to go bout 60mph but now struggles i need help! sorry for soundin like a novice as i dont no much about scoots.
