Now that my wife's Scarabeo 150 is broken in, here is what you can expect with regard to speed. With a 185 lb. rider (me), it will comfortably cruise at 60mph. This includes hills and flat roads. On a perfectly flat road, it will do 70 mph or 75 if you have the time to reach that speed.
These are actual clocked speeds not what the speedo reads.
These tests were done without a windshield. At highway speeds, it needs a windshield.
I would not recommend it for freeway travel except for short distances, due primarily to the lack of reserve power, but for all else, it is outstanding. Unlike any scooter I have ever ridden it handles much more like a motorcycle.

Thanks for your comments on the 150. I took my first ride with it out of the practice parking lot and it was great fun. Traffic is the biggest problem for me at the moment...no problems at all with the Scarabeo!
