Just talked to a dealer here who rode this scooter at a demo by Aprilia in Atlanta GA. How about a 100 mph scooter that is rock steady. Believe it! MSRP $5699
They will be here in May so get your order in.From the rear he says it looks like a Cadillac

I was also at the dealer meeting in Atlanta a few weeks ago. Wait till you see it in person ! It also has chrome crash guards, a place for speakers, tach, intergal braking system, even a on-board lap timer ! Plus it's fuel injected for great throttle response. We should have them in May/June as a 2003 model.

Also the Scarabeo 50 has many nice changes including DITECH, rear disc brake, rear trunk now included, all new colors and more. It is only $100 more than this years price, $2499.

Si, si, si, si...
I am sure the new models are better, faster, fully featured (including hand/foot warmers and map lights) and a only marginally overpriced. But please try not to make us fools who bought this years model feel too bad!

<grin>

Does anyone have any links to photos or a gallery of the Atlantic 500? I looked at the Aprilia site, but I'd like to see some private shots. Links?

How about some photos of the trunk, touring packages, etc?

As a side note, I was thinking about the Reflex or the Silver Wing. Sadly, the Silver Wing is seriously over-priced. When I heard from my dealer that he was going to push the Atlantic 500 for US$300 more than the base-model Reflex, I gave him my down payment on the 500.

Schweet.

The fuel injection wioll be a major boon for the rider...not ever having to tear into the bodywork to clean out the float bowl in the carb will be worth whatever they charge...a place for speakers, how cool!

Hi,

My name is Dean. I just joined on the list. I own a Scarabeo 150 that I put over 5000 miles on since May. Now there's snow.. It's my understanding that the Atlantic will use a Piaggio engine. I don't know anything about those other than that Piaggio makes Vespas. I really like the Rotax in the Scarabeo, it seems very reliable and amazing for its power. But I'm considering the Atlantic as maybe a better 2-up touring scooter, yet concerned about the rep of the engine. Anybody got some insight on this?

Happy Riding,
Dean

I attended an Aprilia demo day on a cold and
rainy morning in the Santa Cruz mountains (at
Alice's Restaurant for you locals) on Dec 1st
and Aprilia USA had an Atlantic 500 there as
well. The manufacturer rep told me it did use
a Piaggio motor. Surprised me a bit too, not
that it's a bad thing, just new to me. Looks
pretty cool too...

Try cyber scooter on any key word search.
This is an Italian web site-in the middle of the screen there will be a frame that says off limits
key on this and it will bring up about 8 shows where when accessed have some great 500 pictures. I just ordered mine from Red Line iN YORKTOWN,VA

Hoping for May
