Ciao Atlantic tifosi...
A bit of behind the scenes news from Aprilia in Italy...
At the Munich MC-Show in September Aprilia will for the first time show a Maxi-scoot called Newport, it will probably be a slightly down-sized Atlantic with somewhere between 200-250cc...
As for other rumours that can reach the Atlantic is the Piaggio (X9??) 650cc V-twin scooter and after the Aprilia-Piaggio platform sharing deal that motor will most likey also show up in the Atlantic or much better the (rumoured) Piaggio 850cc V-twin scooter powerplant, if that one lands in the Atlantic I will order one for my own private pleasure..
Also in the rumour mill is a Scarabeo 500GT, what I know it's going to get a stiffer frame with the Piaggio 500cc motor (same as the Atlantic) and it will supposedly ride on wider 17" wheels... .
As for "bikes" Aprilia will resurrect the old Italian Laverda brand with a brand new SFC 1000 Twin, remember that wondrfull old orange bike??? There will also be a Laverda 650cc Supermotard....
