Not much 'traffic' on this forum of late! Let's see if we can change that a bit!

Having an Atlantic 500 and a Scarabeo 150, I am concerned about security of these pieces of equipment while they are out of my garage allowing me to enjoy the enviorns of my part of the great U.S. (Western).

I have heard a few horror stories about theft of different sizes of scooters, tho I would say that, for the most part, these would not be the BIG maxi-scooters.

That said, I believe that every owner of whatever they own, feel that security is important. I am interested in genning up some stimulation about SECURITY DEVICES!

I have a Krypto single-hole disc brake lock that I use from time-to-time, especially while taking a walk in the park or going somewhere unfamiliar. I bought a 2 1/4"w X 1" h RED plastic key tag (actually!!) with the words "REMOVE DISK LOCK" and have a small velcro glued in place and attach it to the yoke of either scooter steering when the disc lock is affixed to the scooters front brake system. Sure don't want to try to drive off...!!!

I, today, purchased a Kryptonite 11 1/2" X 4" wheel lock. This, you would affix to a post or anything 4" or less in diameter and then to your front wheel.

I'm wondering, also, if there are other ways to fashion this particular item to the scooter so you wouldn't, necessarily, have to use a post or something...??? I have not experimented thus far...

So... yes!... Now --------- let's hear stories and ideas concerning this topic.

Hopefully your not using the disc lock with the round key that was recalled by Kryptonite. If yes, check their website.

..spectrum...

And that web site would be...???

"Krypto" lock for the disc ---- NOT "Kryptonite."

Are you saying your Krypto disc lock is not made by Kryptonite? Either case I would change it if it uses a round key.

Hmmmm... 'spectrum... I had heard about all that mess, and I guess my little Kryptro is, infact, made by Kryptronite, but I'll hang onto them.

A friend, and former co-worker, thought that he had heard about the locks having a problem and thought he could 'crack' mine. He tried and tried... in vein. The ball point pen just didn't do the job and damned near ruined his work pen!! Anyway...

Locks, of any type, are reassuring to their owner --- no matter for what use --- but the old saying is: locks only keep honest people honest. I guess that's true.

I just thought I'd start some thinking in this forum, and I have, if it only be you and I! Good.
