I'm not allowed to tell you what I'm paying anymore, but from what I have read elsewhere on here, £1k seems a bit expensive.

What type of insurance is that: Fully comp, 3rd party, fire & theft, or just 3rd party?

Cheers.

Jesus mike ... thank god i dont live in london lol

If you live in a village in the middle of no where ... then the insurance should drop a bit

Very true neville, its a fucking shitty area where i live full of fucking skip-rats looking to pinch your top kit. hence garaged with disk and chain lock, even drilled to get a bull bar put in the concrete

AlexH

well im 17 but theft is very low in this aria bcoz the population is mostly over 80 it would b kept in a garage with a disk lock and i plan 2 have an immobaliser fitted so that should knock a bit off (i hope)

No one can say exactly what the best will be, who to go with, but we can tell you who to try. However you will have to phone around different companies, different people, different rates.

So far i've used the following:

£661.00 - RS50 - Bennetts (By far the cheapest RS50 quote)
£595.00 - RS125 - CIA (was lazy and didnt phone around)
£370.00 - RVF400 - Carole Nash (Really good price!!)

Prices are TPFT, with one additional rider, and pillion where applicable. And also insured to the true value of the bike. Took alot of phone calls and at the right time of the year to get that quote on the RVF but i was happy with it, especially as i had put aside £800 for insurance.

Dunno if others are same but Carole Nash tried to put mine up after the first years initial cheap price, until i told em id cancel if they did! they then matched the previous years again. Watch out for that

Also, the cheapest price isnt necessarily the best, Carole Nash was cheap but i couldve got cheaper, went with them because theyre a reputable company

also, got free (to home) breakdown cover included with them which i had to use, that was great, and priceless at the time!

i agree with stu, rampdale are the mutts nuts.
the lowest quote i could get with a full licence, no points, 2 years NCB, garaged TPFT with MCE was £670.

Then along came rampdale and hammered that into the ground with £520. that was the lowest i could get after shopping around LOADS!

i seem to live in one of those areas that insurance companies dont like though.

*cough theiving bastards cough*

got the cheapest one for my RS125: 360€ a year but i don't drive it the wole year. It's not at full power because I'm only allowed to drive it @ 15hp f*ckin Germany.....
@ the age of 18 and with motocycle- driver's license and @full power it'll cost me about 90€ a year

With Scannia I got my RS50 TPFT for £475 with £300 excess next year if I want to keep the RS50 it will be around £650 TPFT, or if I want an RS125 I'm looking at £867 TPO.....

Moral of this storie is, dont get caught taking pillions, dont let pikeys follow you home and when stupid women rear end you take picture and get witnesses
