Because the fridge is scared of the dark... ho do we know the light really switches off untill we re-open the fridge, eh?

Fridges are designed for findind food quickly...men like cooked food that is already prepared. Women have to prepare the uncooked frozen food... it was once believed women did not have the privalidge of having a light.

the light in a fridge is just a check to show it's still working, whereas in a freezer, that's fairly obvious....:D :D :D
