View Full Version : Less electrictriy component, more power?
Hi! I'm wondering is there increase in performance of the bike if I omit most of the electric component of the bikes? Let's minus off the headlight, control panel and speedometre, speedo and RPM light?
Another question is that, I have been hearing the advantages of fixing grounding cables on bike to improve acceleration and efficiency. I'd heard that it would only be effective on EFI bikes. Anyone knows what about 2 stroker??

Dont waste your time buddy. More hassle than its worth. The power needed to run aux components on a bike is minimal. A better idea is to decrease bike weight. Take off pillion pegs-add a stainless exhaust-fibre glass rear seat unit etc. I have seen devices like this for cars that shutt off the alternator at full throttle-good for 1-2 bhp so I know where you are coming from. Also a fast bike is no good in the hands of a slow rider ( I am proof of this!! lol). Try looking into riding technique-prob make you quicker and safer as well. Good luck with it all:peace:

only gain you'd get from removing them items is weight loss, hardly worth it on a road bike.
Dunno about earthing, i know it makes quite a bit of diffrence on the RVF but i cant figure out why it would make a diffrence.
As stevo said best way to get faster is to learn to ride faster you could have a fast rider on a standard bike and a crap rider on a bike with every mod going and the better rider would win round some propper roads.
Just look at rossi in the last GP season!
thanks guys...
actually i didn't think of doing that..
it all started when i read about the grounding installation for better efficiency and thus, the thought of reducing electric components came to mind...
but i really heard good comments of grounding on big CCs bikes and will update you guys if it really works on our RS!!
Good day!

You can achive the same effect by grinding a spot of paint off the subframe where the earth connects to but the actually mod looks prettly lol... ohhhhhh red wires. lol.
Same can be done to the RS125 but theres no where near any noticable gains as it doesnt produce big figures and the electrical systems already pretty well sorted.

hey dude, can you kindly tell us what improvement in the performance you get after the earthing and also where does all the earthing wires end up in?
