Hi All....

The thing is, ive recently bought a Kundo Banzai 2 exhaust for my RS50. I did this in the hope for better accelleration, and a sweeter sound.

But sadly the new exhaust pushed the powerband, resulting in almost no power until hitting 6500rpm, where it almost goes dead, then hitting 7500rpm with a bang and the bike accels like crazy... :eek: :eek:

This may sound like a good thing to some, but I use my bike in the city, witch is why I would prefer the rpm's kicking in a lot sooner, rather than having a crazy high end accel.

What is the solution to this proplem...?
Getting a bigger cylinder and carburator pehaps?

Would really be sad to buy a new exhaust, as this one costet a lot of $

I know.... But this is diffrent!

Before U would have far more power until the "old" limit of 6000rpm, but with the new exhaust there are almost no power until the 7500rpm.

Kinda like this drawing......

6000 6500 7500 12000rpm

Normal exhaust ..........:::::<img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/embarassed.gif ALT=":o"> ooooo
Kundo 2 ...................0000000

Again, what could I do to solve this problem?

your air screw and needle sound like they need a little adjustment, hard to make a change to the bike and expect not to have to change jetting. try richening the needle with a shim-not a whole clip position. if it gets better youre good-if worse go the other way. do this with bike fully warm though or it will cange later. then at operating temp adjust the air screw till you get a good throttle response from idle at about 2000rpm then in another 1/4 turn.

if you dont know what im talking about get someone who does to do it. i would hate to have youre bike seize up cruizing around town

Any performance exhaust you buy is going to move the power band up because the engine is able to breathe better. If you want lower RPM power buy a big bore kit and run it with the stock exhaust and carb. You will have more power then stock and retain a lower powerband.
