Remember me. i have a german rs50 and had problems reving above 8 in top gear. you said it might be the cdi

I changed my cdi but it has not made any improvement in performance. do you have any other sugestions, and do you think it might still be restricted in the exaust. i can only get 45mph on flat land and 0-30 is still about 12 sec

Isn't there also some restriction in the cylinder on the German model?

It is probably the cylinder....they port the German market bikes to make very little power. Have you checked the exhaust for restrictions. You probably have a restricted cylinder however.

also the carb it like a 7/8mm carb.....

I think both german and dutch versions have a 9mm carb. The UK versions have a 12mm carb.Stick a 21mm Dellorto on it and make it fly! I'm afraid our Euro-nanny-hand-holding-butt-wiping law makers are worried we might not be able to breathe over 30mph. We will be required to have a red flag bearer in front of us at some point I'm sure....
