If you were here in England and owned a numberplate that means something ie: RSV XX it is worth money if someone wants to personalise there motorcycle / car. i sold the numberplate "V15" for £35000.00 last week so are you impressed yet?

35k for a plate?

I guess its true that a sucker is born every minute, and that some people have more money than brains.

What did you buy with the profit? I would have bought a bunch of low-rate whores.

In the US, one of the states (Rhode Island ?)is the same way. You can pass on or sell your license plate. Wherever this is there was a huge recoreded sale of license plate "1" a few years back.

Jos, have fun with those whores.

America is one of the few places that buying and selling personalised plates hasnt taken off, probably because you can have the same plate ('RSV' for example) in 50 states so they arent worth much.

I guess I'm impressed but not in a good way. That's not even an "S" its a "5".

Here in West Australia we can buy custom number plates... first in - best dressed. For AUS$275 you can have what you like if it isn't gone yet. I have CRAZED on my Mille (used to be on my Kwaka Z1000). Something like WAYQIK or HIRISQ can go for a lot dollars more..... but not $35K!!!! Then again, PORSCHE will sell to that yuppie with a huge wallet for his boxster.....

85K and 35K for selling 2 plates?

I'm wondering if I should throw the BS flag here.

Mb take off some zeroes and it would be plausible.

I can't imagine some asshat spending short of a hundred thousand british Pounds just to buy a license plate for the car...

Welcome to Delaware. I moved here 7 years ago and was stunned what people will pay for the old style black & white plates. They are bigger status symbols than the make of the car. There is a huge %age of personalized plates here, new blue & yellow, and old black & white.

The less numbers, the more $$$.
