I put in 57mm throttle bodies and the Edwards air tubes. I guess it shouldn't be surprising that my performance has improved. The best way I can describe it is that 6th gear pulls like 5th used to. I'm thinking of going from a 44 back to a 42 tooth rear sprocket. It also seems to run a bit cooler - I kept seeing low 170's all day long and it used to run in the 180's. It was a low 80 degree day. I think the Mille engine was meant to have larger TBs.

I milled out my rotor buttons and replaced them with floating buttons. It was a PITA to get those old buttons out. I am not sure if my braking has improved - it does seem really smooth. I know it dropped a pound or so from the front wheel. Should this make the bike turn easier? I think it might have. One stop in a gravel parking lot a high-pitched resonance started. Sounded awful, but it was only once and the rest of the day I didn't hear anything from the brakes.

I had a good ride - a couple of tanks of gas through the bike.

I'm considering doing those exact modifications to my race bike, so I have a few questions for you.
How much did you pay for the 57 mm throttle bodies? Was any modifications to the airbox neccessary? What year is you bike?

good stuff Bill. I'm thinking of going with larger TBs also. I heard that the 57s required a special chip were the 54 or 55 didn't nessararily need it. Which chip are you running? thanks

I have a 2002 Mille R. I bought an "Edwards kit" off a guy who didn't install it on his Edwards bike. It had the TBs, a different bottom half of the air box, and an Edwards chip. There were larger holes in the bottom of the air box for the TB openings and larger, shorter velocity stacks - half as tall as the evoluzione SP stacks. Also a piece that snaps in where the restrictor plate comes out. It looks like a large inverted velocity stack that forces the air half-way up inside the air filter. I've never heard of this piece before. The chip says MY 01 02 03 on it - an Aprilia part and the trim pots are activated. I wasn't really thinking of doing this mod, it just came out of the blue and I am really surprised how well it turned out.

now you got me dreaming!!!!! :D
cool stuff. do you know if the "edwards kit" is alvalible or only part of the edwards rep bike? Can't imagine that someone wouldn't want it on their edwards.... but sounds like you made out on that deal! Have fun with it.
