I rode my rs125 for the first time on my 17th birthday on Thursday (15th), but it broke down after a few hours.

I was getting problems with slack accumulating in the clutch as i rode until it got so bad that i couldn't disengage the clutch. I pulled into a petrol station and tightened it up a bit, pulled out of the petrol station in 1st gear, got up to 10000rpm, changed into second gear and there was a really loud POP and a total lack of power. I pulled over to the side of the road and the bike wouldn't start again.

After letting it cool down for a few hours (even though it was running at 74C all day) it started, and i thought it was all ok, until i rode it. Now when i ride it every time i get to about 9/10000 rpm in 1st gear the power cuts off and the bike lurches forward.

I had a look at the clutch and as i'm @ 9600km i've ordered the bits that you should at the 10000km service. I've ordered new clutch plates as they've been sticking and burning, a new adjusted screw because its frayed, new clutch cogs, new piston rings and a new ball-bearing clutch plate.

My parts don't come till next weekend, any ideas as to what this power loss could be?

hi...
Is your bike is fitted with pv or just a blanking plate?if u had a pv,so that means your pv is knackered.try to check your pv m8.bcos if your pv is not functioning, your max rpm is at 10k.
cheers!

cheers for the replies.

I've got no powervalve at the moment, just a blanking plate.

I'm still waiting on the parts to fix my clutch and change the piston rings. As soon as i've done that I'll let you know where i stand...i reckon there's still going to be a problem....i'm thinking crank seal.
