I've just got myself a powervalve from a local breakers in mint condition. I fitted it and adjusted it the way it's been show. Took it for a spin can feel slight improvement a low revs, but there's no real pull when I rev to 8000-9000rpm and it still doesn't rev over 10,000rpm. Have I done something or do I need to change something on my cdi or something (which one is the cdi)?If so can I do this myself or do i need to buy a new cdi?

my 2 cents
aside from ajak's comment which seems good, remove the side panel and start the engine and see if you can feel the powervalve cable opening and closing
also tighten the cable up a bit and then once it's fully tightened slacken it off slighty otherwise you might suffer from high speed misfiring
THEN check you're running a BR10 plug from NGK, or relevant DENSO plug,
then check your carb is set right, normally when it won't over rev it's running too rich, so look into down sizing your jet if you're running a 130 or something, or if you're on a 34mm carb try downsizing from 165 to 162 or 160 or even I've heard 155 works with some bikes.
Cheers
My powervalve doesnt clickvso dont worry too much, Even if it does click it doesnt mean everythings derestricted i think your exhaust is restricted !!!!
Mine done exactly the same till i bought a derestricted exhaust
Sorry for the bad news

eddy I didn't say it clicked
I said feel the powervalve cable moving and see if it's moving a good distance before it goes slack, if not tighten it up
that said, UK and ES bikes aren't restricted in the exhaust
But very good point, if it is restricted you'll have to cut open the belly of the exhaust and remove the restrictor
or buy an arrows or a tyga pipe, no restrictor less hassle :)

checked. the solenoid and it does move back and forth when I rev it. What kind of revs can you get out of a full power model? What revs does the power kick in and is it that noticeable difference in power?

the powervalve will open at 2.5k rpm, then it closed back.it will open again at 8k rpm which u will feel the power kick-in.
