View Full Version : How similar are the 96 and 99 rs250's ?

Been offered some bits...i know bodywork changes,a wider front tyre,instruments ect but was the motor changed much ?

The motor is the same but the 99 has the newer type of sapc. It gives it alittle more mid range. Other than that its all chassis and cosmetic.

are the swingers and petrol tanks the same ?

are you sure about different SAPCs?I thing 99 SAPC is 22d70,like mine 95.

The tanks have a slightly different profile, but they will fit both the bike, I have both a 2000 and a 1995 tank that I use on mine. The mounting is exactly the same. Whats are swingers? If it is the swing arm yes they are the same.

I am almost positive that the newer ones use an updated version of the sapc. I have to go see what my 95 stock one is and Ill see what the later one has.
