i was riding the rs up the road giving it some when it cut out! as it slowed it started to run again so off i went then it cut again and stalled started again no probs done this a couple of times on the way home could this be a dodgy plug? yes there is petrol in it. the road was straight. and it has killed 2 plugs fairley quickly they just stop sparking. oh and the day b4 this happend it was thrashed about for three hours.

lol got some work to do :D could be too rich a mixture setting, check the simplest things first, but those are the ones id look at, have you tried taking the spark plug out attaching it to the ht lead and earthing it to see if there is a spark, straight after it starts doing it? have you also done a plug chop and checked all electrical connections?

i removed the plug and put another one in (iridium jobbie) took it out for a blast was only out ten minutes but it never did it again. im looking to get it serviced soon as i can. it has not been done since i bought it and i think its due, the carb keeps leaking if i forget to off the fuel. and various other things are causing concern. i know i should do it myself but i would rather get it set up properly and given the once over by a aprilia mechanic. because ive never had one b4 and i wouldnt know what to look for on it or weather its running right or not. im waiting for the winter to get familier with it because it will spend the winter in the garage. and i can tinker with it. might use it for work 2 morrow to give it a proper run and see if its still causing concern!!
thanks for your help you people are invaluable..

could also be a sticking float chamber or your carb needs cleaning, the garage will probably solve it when yo get it serviced

is that denso one that craig sells the iw31? if so they are only £10.87 and as far as i can see no vat has to be added to that and that includes free postage :D

what i mean is the pipe connected to the carb chucks the fuel out not the carb itself

Ahh wait VAT does have to be added so the price of Platinum and Standard Plugs averages out, but the IW ones are cheap.
May have to do a loss leader and charge £12.00

a loss leader is where they sell quality beer at 4 cans for 2 quid to get you to buy other things in the shop that never sells
replace beer with any other product
a very old concept

have you had a look at the breather pipes see if they are partialy
