hi
my mechainc phoned me today, he said he had a look at the bike and says the "uniion" or something on the carb has cracked. This is why it use to leak petrol before.
BUt all i wana know is what the hell is it?
He said he'll order it in and put a new one on, should be fitted on wednesday, if its coming from aprilia its not bad service i think?
Its pretty cheap so i guess its not that big of a problem?
thanx

the fuel tap union is the bit that connects your petrol tap to your tank, mine cracked a few weeks back and i ended up havin to get a new fuel tap which costs £34 from speedaway!
apparently a craig told me before if the seal breaks on original it has to be replaced as you'l not be able to repair it!

all he said was its just the union thingy, not the whole fuel tap, hope i dont have to pay £34 for a new one!
You bike is still under warrenty isnt it?

If its carb related the parts will come from Dell'Orto. If its fuel tap related its Aprilia. And what the hell is a union on a bike :S

not sure if its the same as on the new shape models but on the old shape the union is a special bolt kinda thing that attaches the fuel tap to the tank itself! if this is your problem 'kissmyrs' then its more than likely you'll have to buy a new fuel tap, i asked speedaway if i could just order the union but they wouldnt have it so i had to pay £34 for a whole new fuel tap!

im not sure if the bikes under warranty, i bought it 4 months old, so it should be shouldnt it?
its probably 7 months old now, but how do i know its under warenty cos ive never serviced it or anything, its done 1600 miles, i bouhgt it with 1200 miles so i guess the previso owner did the 1000 mile service. so my waranty should be vaild? im just not sure?
I think the bike is still under warrenty so you should make the most of it. Ask your mechanic or phone the Aprilia centre and they should tell you. Why pay when you dont need to?
Im not 100% sure as my bike is 2nd hand and was way past its warranty when i bought it. Perhaps someone whos bought an RS 2nd hand and under warranty can tell you more about it.
