I decided to take the advice of several posters and rejet my Peg.
Everything seemed to go well until I had it all back together and
turned on the gas. Gas was flowing out of the carbs. It nearly filled
the air box. I bet a bunch went down the crankcase and into the sump.
Well I have the pleasure of taking it all apart again. I can see it
the gas leaking from both carbs.
I was very careful not to touch the floats when I was putting in the
jets. I took the bowls off and the floats seem to move just fine.
Anybody have some suggestions? How do I check the float level and what
should it be? I did disconnect and remove the evaporative canister
also.
I am very frustrated.

TIA

where exactly is the gas flowing out from??

you may have a stuck float....you can lightly tap the outside of the float bowl with a mallet and it should free it and shut off the flow of gas

the float level should be fine....dont know the exact spec off the top of my head....you said you didnt touch or mess with the floats...

how did you remove the evap cannister??

The gas is coming out the intakes of the carbs right into the airbox. I tried tapping the float bowls before pivoting rear subframe again.
To see this I disconnected the airbox and connected the gas tank up to the carbs. Funny thing is both carbs dribble the gas out. I would not think I could mess up both of them. I will remove the bowls again and make sure I did not get something twisted. I will put the tank on temporarily and see if the leak persist before putting the rear frame back together.
Maybe I got something hooked up wrong. The petcock does connect to the hose going to a tee fitting between the two carbs, correct?
I disconnected the 2 vacuum lines on the right side of the carb and capped the holes. I removed those lines down the canister. I pulled the line off the left side of the air box that went to the lower port on the canister. I pulled the line that connected to the lower left side of the tank, tank vent?, that went to the rollover valve and on to the canister.

Any suggestions on getting a 1/2 gallon of gas out of the airbox?

No, there is a breather vent connection with a T-fitting between the two carbs...this T-fitting is near the top front (engine-side) of the carbs...this is just left open

the gas line should go from the tank to the automatic petcock then to a T-fitting between the carbs....this T-fitting is located just above the actual float bowls near the bottom and back (airfilter-side) of the carbs

There is a drain hose with a clip near the side stand.
Press the clip with pliers to open the hose and all gas
should flow out.
Cheers, ToMo.

Thanks for all the replies! I connected to the wrong hose. No more gas leaks, Now it just runs extremely rich. Going back to the stock jets.
