I have plans to make a purchase on a 2002 mille r and I would like some advice on it, pros cons whatever. Right now I ride Triumph t595 and would like to get on an Italian V twin. Thanks to all responses in advance.

10K miles on a 1995 GSX-R750
20K miles on a 1999 VFR800 (still have)
Bought my 2000.5 RSVR a month ago... track day was Monday 3/31... bike is AMAZING. It is so inspiring - the power, braking, and handling make me feel like a pro. You won't be disappointed.

i just came over from a 929. It is my first Twin and I love it.
There are 2 things that suck on these bikes
1) the heat from the exhaust
2) the mirrors are USELESS
other than that, I can tell you that I have never ridden a bike that just feels so right

I sold my 996SPS and bought a 2001 R. I had more than twice as much into the Duc. The Mille R is a sweet ride and the best overall bike I have ever ridden. If you judge this bike by the specs you are missing the point. Go to a demo day and ride one and you will say wow, this bike makes me feel like a better rider. My Ducati offered a little more front end feed back but I bought my wife a Monster with the spare change! Now that I have the bike set up my lap times are better with the RSVR. The bike is also much more practical for street riding than my Duc. That being said I bought the RSVR as a track bike so the mirrors and seat heat are not an issue. I have an Arrow complete exhaust system which is over sized and only makes the seat heat worse but again not near as bad as the Termi's on the SPS. Resale seems to be an issue as Aprilia keeps discounting the new bikes in dealer inventory. I would also say there is better Ducati dealers than Aprilia dealers. It seems like many dealers took on Aprilia for something to back up their main line and thats how you get treated. Overall the bike has been great.
