Took the DD to Texas World Speedway today

There was 2 of us actually. One black DD with Arrow pipes and me, white DD with Leo pipes. I've gotta say not overly impressed with the handling. I fitted some Dunlop Q2s and my buddy had some take off Dunlop slicks. Pegs are way to low to ride sportbike style. My knee was no where near touching asphalt and my peg would scrape. My buddy was tearing his pegs up. TWS is a really rough track that I thought the DD would soak up with its suspension. It didn't and felt like it was all over the place. Going to try it at a tighter,more technical track in the next 2weeks so I'll report back then...

Didn't get around to mounting my GOPRO but I'll link pics when they are posted....

I've scrapped my pegs too and I'm not a kneedragger, but my suspension feels great. Maybe I'll try a new rearset and raise the pegs a bit, but forged wheels are first.

I did have the suspension set up at a local race shop the day after I bought it....it was more than likely this track. TWS has horrible pavement. It's been weathered by many years of stock cars and neglect. This was the first time on this track with this type of bike. When I had my 600ss it would bounce around but I felt in control with the seating position. I need to take some time and get use to it. Plus the wind was kickin like crazy which didn't help. I've got another track day at TWS April 7 so I hope the weather is better and promise I will get video this time around.

There was one at TWS that had clip ons instead of the bars. I liked it a lot.....we need an aprilia Houston ride :)

You can see in the video how bumpy a ride that is on the GSXR! That looks like a very high speed track TWS. I didn't see any tight 1st or 2nd gear turns might have played into the strengths of the DD1200... Nice suit I have the same BKS!
