Ordered my Tuono V4R APRC yesterday for collection 1st March :-)

Time to choose a replacement pipe as the standard one although sounding great is ugly as sin.

What do we like pipe wise ?, I'm liking the Scorprion GP at the moment but I'm sure there are others out there I have not discovered yet.

The akra's not bad looks really good on RC's blackie - I'm not a big fan of the GP pipes too old school for me - personally I like the standard pipe and love the sound so I'm sticking with it for now.

Swannies competition werks pipe is awesome looking but I'm not sure it would suit my blackie (or my neighbours ears).

It's whatever floats yer boat - difficult choice.
:peace:

GP2 looks nice but pricey !!!

I need something road legal as I do a few track days and they getting pretty keen on noise levels these days

My carbon Akra with de-cat pipe has baffles. I've done a noisy and quiet track day without a problem. Quality is great too.

Competition Werkes. It cleans up the side of the bike nicely and doesn't need the hanger from the rear footrest. It is loud without the db killer but is not too bad with the db killer in.

This might be a bit of "badge snobbery" but although I like the look of lots of pipes you guys have here; I wouldnt be able to put anything other than an Akrapovic or a Leo Vince pipe on my bikes.

IMO the Akrapovic pipe is too long for the compact styling of the TV4, so I will be putting the Leo Vince on mine when I get it.

I will also be getting my TV4 in March. Cant come quick enough.

Just a quick question; is there a long lead time for a new one? Or are they readily available?

Thanks.

Competition Werkes chrome.......the sound is amazing with this GP pipe. After it was installed at the shop, (bike was in back of the shop, off the street in San Francisco) I started the bike and hit the throttle.....3-mechanics ran out to see what the hell was making that sound......sounds like MotoGP bike. They were all laughing at how amazing the sound is. Enjoy!

I have the carbon Akra (the 'for Race Use Only' version) so not Cat and with the baffle out, it passes the DB tests at the track. It also works exceedingly well with then Race ECU.

Hopefully my Tv4 will be here by the end of this month & I went with the Arrow Dark series exhaust. I think it will go with the matte black scheme pretty well. I've only heard a short clip on YouTube but it sounded pretty nice. Heres to hoping.

Looks and sound are good to have, but which pipe is yielding the best performance return?

Its all about the look and the sound. The Akrapovic only returns circa 5bhp, and I dont care what anyone says, when you have 167/170bhp; you can not tell the difference.

Maybe yes when combined with the race ecu or PCV, but pipe on its own; no way.

Agree. The difference you'll gain with any pipe on the Tv4 is negligible. I wouldn't put performance gains at the top of the list when choosing an exhaust. Go with what looks & sounds good to you. You'll be happier.

AR GP2 should pass at the track with the 35mm baffle (included) and db killer.

Im not talking about the peak HP gains actually. Im talking about the overall curve, fueling etc etc. Performance. Although they don't gain a lot at the top, many bikes do gain a much better power and torque curve with pipe and tune/ECU. But in my experience some pipes look and sound good but can cause big dips or lean spots etc etc.

Mine's never been completely silky in a low gear at constant 3500 rpm, but she runs better with the 2013 race map & AR GP2 than she ever did before. No graphs, just a big ol' grin on my face every time I ride.

Like I said; you will feel a difference when combined with the race ecu or PCV, but most probably not with just the pipe alone.

Surely the Akro Evo2 full system would be the ultimate? The only other FS I've seen for sale is the Leo Vince (heard no reports on that one)

I too am making enquiries for the full titanium akra with race acu....I just went all gooey when I heard it in person for the first time. I can honestly say that hearing it on you tube does not do it justice. Ooooo that deep rumble......however the only me back it the total price....2400 all in..... Not sure if I can justify having it at that price!!!!

It's not that loud, especially with the 35mm insert. The gp2 is supposed to be quieter than the previous version, as it's a little longer. I keep it pretty mellow around town (much as I can anyway) and I haven't been pulled over for it (knocks wood). I bought the db killer for it and took it off after a couple of rides, and I don't like super loud pipes. If I ever do a track day somewhere that has noise restrictions (like Laguna Seca), I'll put the db killer in and I'm sure I'll be fine. No worries with Willow Springs or Miller.

With 35mm baffle and the baffle that screws in at the outlet (purchased separately) mine passed a noise test at 82db!
