Well, a hoon rather than a tour, but still a test for the Guzzi. Thus far I've put c.2,500 miles on her since late May and have had days out both solo and two up. This evening i will be heading from the heart of London in the Friday rush hour heading north to County Durham, about 285 miles of boring A1, to meet with a bunch of Tuono Gen 1 and 2 riders from these pages (and a rogue R6). Saturday we have a hoon planned in the north of England and on into Scotland, then, all being well, it's off to Scarborough for the motorcycle races at Olivers Mount, home Monday.

It's going to be a proper road test and endurance test in changeable weather, so I will report back next week.

How many miles total? I am curious to see how the little Guzzi fares on a long trip. Probably pretty well, I would imagine.

Wheh Jude and I were touring Tassie earlier this year we met up with a couple who were touring on a V7C. No Issues at all apart from the fact that the pilot hadn't checked his oil at all which was a bit unwise due to the very small sump capacity. Not as much of a problem in cooler weather but if its hot and espacially if you're travelling for extended periods at higher engine speeds they can drink a bit of oil. That's the reason a sump extension is such a good idea on tha smallblocks.

From leaving London on Friday night in the rush hour at 5pm I arrived home in south London having hooned around northern UK and the Scottish borders on Monday having covered exactly 900 miles. No issues, some rain of biblical proportions but some good dry roads too and used about a quarter of a litre of oil and did about 10 litres of fuel to a 100 miles when thrashing her, I was with 4 Factory Tuonos and an r6. On the motorway at a steady 85mph she returned !25 miles from 10.9 litres of fuel.

Cheers for the pics Windy!

Loved the ride on the weekend with the bigger bikes, but was down about 80bhp! Even carrying the speed and larey overtakes can't compensate for that with good riders, however, not all were good riders, so the plucky V7 did well, let down by skinny tyres that lacked grip in the wet and feel and the hopeless suspension, but still top fun. Why cant they make a 1000cc though!?!?

Windy, I'll let you break the news. By the by, the v7 passed Arai's Tuono factory gen one several times and held off Omen's gen two Factory with some classic over takes and the throttle stretched to the max over the north Yorkshire moors from Whitby to Pick:p:ering.
