For the ash black owners: are you having
trouble with brake dust embedding itself
into the front wheel's clearcoat? That's
something I'm seeing now- the thing will
not come clean. None of the products I'm
using budge it and they work great with
other bikes and wheels...

Stock pads & discs on it.

I have polished rims (not stock) and I use "Never Dull". I spent about 2 hours last night removing the caked on brake residue from both wheels, mostly the front. Never Dull pulls it right off, just time consuming. Im a little worried that Never Dull might wear down my clear coat, cuz it eats through my laytex gloves pretty quick. I am seeing more and more pitting on the rear wheel, must be coming from rocks or something...not sure.

I have stock discs, pads, and rims and I don't have a problem cleaning the rims. I use either S100 or Honda cleaner and it comes off fine. I think it just comes off with the soap and water I use as well. It's that darn grease from the chain that causes me problem on the back rim.

I also have an ash black and after about 10k miles I started noticing brake dust eating away at the clear coat aswell.

Don't use the brakes. They only slow you down anyway 8o

I use kerosene to clean my chain, and it works really well in taking all grime off the rear rim. It would be overkill for the front rim though. I have never had problems getting brake dust off with regular soap and water.:D

I use Plexus plastic and paint polish and they are just like brand new. The Plexus actualy micro seal any exterior porosity making whatever it's used on slightly protected and easy to clean. Great stuff. Mark.
