Finally got my new Futura in Flame Red at the end of last week, with matching panniers attached, and I really wasn't disappointed. Removed the panniers - easy or what! What a great piece of Italian design. They will be really useful when I go touring France in the summer. Did about 250 miles around Kent and Sussex 'running' in. A mate described the bike as 'sex on two wheels' - a good description I think.

What a great ride - I thought my Thundercat was comfortable, but this was even better. I know its early days to check mpg but seemed to be getting around 45-48 mpg but only revving to a max of 5000 at the moment!
Still, even at those low revs the bike was doing about 80!

No problems whatsoever to report on the first two days riding - everything worked perfectly. A very different ride from an in-line four but it won't take long to get used to the extra grunt and different engine noise.

Thanks to all of those who have provided information about the Futura over the past few months, and you now have another convert.

Roll on next weekend.
Happy riding guys!

Howie, glad to hear you'r enjoying the bike. Flame Red rules!!! :)

I took my first ride since returning seven weeks ago from Florida yesterday morning. Let me tell you that the thrill does not wear thin. The Futura is one super ride and you are right, the bags are tops in all of motorcycling.... just my humble opinion, of course.

Ride safe, have fun.

How much space is in each of the bags?

Sorry to mention the panniers again - which were delivered with the bike (Rab!!!), and without checking I think they have a capacity of 40 litres. I'll check this with the owners handbook when I get home to confirm. Certainly holds a full-face helmet plus enough to get round France for 8 days without strapping extra kit to the pillion seat, or even having to use a tank bag!
