How in God's name do you read the coolant level?

Besides being opaque, is the tank also impregnated with lead so that Superman can't see his coolant either?

Here's what I do: remove the cover and the cap and run a long, thin probe down the fill tube, pull it out and gage the level by how much of it got wet.

Give some thought to what you use as a probe and follow my advice at your own risk.

I've had good luck with shining a flashlight beam into the bottom of the coolant reservoir (throught the lower opening in the fairing), then viewing the level (maybe tapping on the reservoir to get some motion in the coolant to see the line).
