I don't know what the rest of you think but I think it's about time we used this forum to discuss the wonderful machines we have the pleasure of owning.
when I first started to use this forum I thought it was great that there were so many people out there willing to share their experiences and knowledge with a new comer like me that has never owned a bike before.
Now whenever I look at this forum most posts are people slagging each other off and bitching.
Lets get back to talking about our bikes and getting on with each other. People have a right of expressing their opnions as long as it is not going to hurt other users and fellow bikers.
if you want a slagging match I'm sure there are other forums you can join ! ! !

It's about time somebody mentioned this. I realise Craig is a busy man what with trying to save us all some serious hassle and money but this site should be moderated a bit more often, maybe another moderator to assist Craig??

My vote goes to Franky....
Just kidding! :D

Problem is all this happened betwen 3am - 12 noon.
As i was still up at 3am. So i dont fancy moderation the board 24/7 if you get me?
If you noticed all posts were deleted as soon as i came on, it should quieten down now since franky says he's left. Hell he can come back as a new name i wont mind, he can even use his old names, but as long as its all stays as it was before christmas i dont have a problem.
It is really getting out of hand, this section produces 72% more reported posts than the whole of the board!
Lets hope it returns to normal.

yeah, don't get me wrong, I'm not criticising craig, he's doing a fine job, but as he says himself, it's a lot of work.

If everybody was more responsible & mature then we shouldn't even need a moderator in the first place!

Rigth on Key, although i must say that today it has gone back to a real forum. Big amount of decent replies on serious questions, very nice to see.

and cut down on the 'look whats on ebay' posts! everyone knows to look on ebay, and if your bidding on something then its posted on here youd be right pissed off when your 'bargain' nearly reaches the new price suddenly!
ok, maybe just a personal thing, but there you go, lol
but yea, its good board when people keep to bikes n related stuff, theres email and msn for everything else
hello to all recent new people too

The way i see it is (no im not sterotyping) most people who ride the rs are quite young we are talking 16+ id say around 90% of rs riders are teens and we all have been there ourselves and know how easy it was to get upset/uptight over some things said or done.
Also about the ebay posts, Craig should make a sticky topic that states "post all ebay auctions in here" simple and will keep the forum less cluttered, because lets face it some of us do miss out on some sweet deals.

Right,
I know e-bay posts sometimes get on my tits, well only when im bidding on that part thinking no one esle has found it.
Only prob is we cant make a way of doing it so this doesnt happen, although an e-bay post is a good idea, ill have a think about it!

Ohh and we did a vote on age and theres more 22+ riders than there is 17 year olds, was very few 17year olds in comparrison!

Guys,
I see it as:
as a forum we must remember that some of us dont get on with others because of our views, this is apart of life, however just because you cant see the person your talknig too, doesnt mean you can run your mouth...
This service is provided by an American based company, AF1 Racing who specialise in Aprilias.
However, we must remember that the RS125 isnt an American bike, so this forum of info / topics etc on the passion for the bikes is provided from them to us...
Alot of people have been taken it for granted and this is a privaliage. We dont have to pay like other fourms to join up, and the mods dont either..
this is a service form very kind people provided for us, please dont wreak this for others..
personally, ive had a few "go mad, making trouble posts" before, but it has not gotten me any where...
so please, keep it on bikes and our bikes!
thats my 2 cents

I thought that whole thing with Ben and franky was a real shame. I also thought it was a good point to raise. If you take a mould from a piece of OEM bodywork, does that constitute IP theft? An interesting point, and of course noone wants Craig to get into trouble.
But instead of a short discussion, it turned into a nasty mess. Franky just seems to have the knack of getting people's backs up.

You should read up on pat pendine, and copyright infringments, i have.
If the mould is exactly the same, uses the same grade of material, and isnt altered in any way it can be a breech of copyright, and pat pending, but the RS fairings arnt copyrighted or pat. pended.
But the fact a carbon mould differs by 100% to a plastic one makes it enough, then the fact the materials carbon, not plastic, then you get into the spec side such as carbon being strong doesnt need to be as thick as plastic so theres the other variations.
It is perfectly legal to copy anything like this as long as its not exactly the same as OEM, shape, material and sepc wise.
Yes its a valid point, but i didnt see it being brought up as a "friendly" way of telling me, one person added a reply onto a carbon post, just after he said he didnt want it, then another started a topic abut it then they both claimed legalities, without looking up the facts.
If they were bothered they would have e-mailed me stating there could be a problem, which there isnt.
Would a UK Leading Carbon Fibre manufacture, and one of the best carbon manufacture in the world do this to make a few quid, nothing compared to what they make on a daily basis if it was going to get them in court?
Enough said, i know you were just asking a question and i have stated the facts :D

I wasn't asking a question. From (painfully) reading the thread, I managed to pick some useful stuff up about this.
Basically, what I'm saying is that, by reading the thread, I learned something about patent laws and moulds and stuff. So, I'm saying that it's a shame that the whole thing was done in such a shouty, finger-pointy way. I like learning something new.
I'm NOT saying that it's a shame that people got banned / asked to leave / whatever. Some of the stuff that was said was vile.
My first reaction was "Hmmm, that's interesting. I wonder if Craig could get into trouble?". Then it was "Okay, common sense says patent laws don't apply here. Cool". Then all the shouty stuff started and it ended up being ridiculous.
Sorry if I wasn't clear about what I meant.

The Ebay thing hasnt happened to me, i just got a front fender for 8.50! but say... if you saw something like an Arrow system or can, it was cheap then it went on here and it went up to like 80 quid for the can, thatd be crap!
but, nice sensible replies from Goldy, thats the kinda thing thats been missing on here, instead of just swearing n shouting! ill be happy with whatevers done really, just raising a personal thing!
alls ok on the carbon front then? i was interested too in that side of it, but hadnt enough info or opinion to post owt, lol

oh come on big o
you cant blame that on franky at all
im sure it got the listing a few extra views but you cannot blame a ebay auctions success on someone giving it abit of forum time.
i put all my spares on the forum and most of my parts sold for pennys.........
it all depends if two people want the same thing and are willing to pay for it more than the other one.
ebay is a fickle world indeed
someone could have had that item of yours on watch the whole time it had been listed, just because it hasnt had any bids dont mean there is no interest in it,most auctions do go up rapidly at the last moment.
ebay is a wonderful thing most of the time but you can have exact same thing one week and sell it for £20 and the nbext week it could go for £100,it depends whos needs/wants it at the time of the sale.
